Sangha Retreat at Adhisthana
Friday 14th - Sunday 16th February 2025
A retreat for people who have been through an introductory course and are familiar with how we practice.
Join us for our annual Sangha Retreat at Adhisthana, where the Nottingham Sangha will come together to immerse ourselves in a weekend of Dharma practice. Adhisthana, a vibrant hub of our movement, offers the perfect setting for deepening connections, dwelling on the Buddha’s teachings, and engaging in the transformational practices of ritual and meditation.
Whether you're new to retreats or an experienced practitioner, this retreat is the perfect opportunity to have zero notifications, time for mental space and clarity and meaningful conversation. Nestled by the Malvern Hills, Adhisthana provides a spacious environment with beautiful gardens and a potent shrine room to host our retreat.
Exploring the Four Sangrahavastus
This year, our retreat will delve into the Four Sangrahavastus (Means of Unification), teachings that outline how we can build meaningful connections which underpin the bonds of our spiritual community. These four principles—generosity (dana), kindly speech (priyavadita), beneficial activity (arthacarya), and exemplification (samanarthata)—offer practical ways to embody the Dharma in our relationships and develop harmony in the Sangha so we can have a positive impact in the world.
Through talks, guided reflections, and group discussions, we’ll explore what these teachings mean in our lives and how they can transform our practice, both on and off the cushion.
More details on the retreat schedule will be shared soon, but we keenly invite you to book now and set aside this weekend for spiritual friendship, practice, and an exploration of these timeless teachings.
Booking: This retreat runs on the basis of dana (generosity), like all our events, you can book and donate here or using the button below.
