Can You Support the Centre?

At the Nottingham Buddhist Centre, our community is built on generosity (dana) and abundance. Donations of time, money, skills, and heart are what sustain our Centre and allow us to continue our work. Thanks to the generosity of those who are able to give, we can welcome everyone—regardless of their financial situation.

Your donations help us support the small team who run the Centre and to maintain the building, ensuring our doors remain open to all.

We rely on this principle of generosity to keep our Centre thriving. To set up a reoccurring or one off donation see the information below:

Ways to Give

Regular gifts to the centre allow us to securely support our core team and allow us to plan our activities with confidence, as well as to keep the space comfortable and welcoming. One-off gifts are also much appreciated, you can find more information about making a donation and how to gift aid your generosity below.

  • Perhaps the easiest way to donate to us is via Donorbox our online donation platform.

  • Standing Order

You can also donate directly from your bank by Standing Order. This has the added advantage for the Centre that we get the whole donation, rather than paying a transaction fee to our online payment provider.

Leave a Legacy

The Nottingham Buddhist Centre has provided refuge and support to many over the years. With your help, we can extend our impact even further for future generations. By including a gift in your will, you can ensure the Centre continues to thrive and offer the Dharma in the heart of Nottingham.

A will outlines how you wish your estate to be distributed after your passing. It offers peace of mind, knowing your affairs are in order and that your legacy will have a meaningful impact. In addition to caring for family and friends, many choose to leave a charitable gift in their will. By leaving a legacy to the Nottingham Buddhist Centre, you will:

  • Support the Buddha’s vision of meaning and connection

  • Provide meditation and mindfulness teachings to all, regardless of financial situation

  • Strengthen a community committed to personal transformation and the welfare of all beings

Please consider leaving a gift to the Nottingham Buddhist Centre in your will, helping us sustain our vision for many years to come. Even a modest bequest can make a significant impact on our Centre’s future and our ability to offer Dharma practice. Contact us at info@nottinghambuddhistcentre.org if you’d like to leave a legacy and for more information. Find our name and charity number below:

Thank you for considering a legacy gift to the Nottingham Buddhist Centre.

Jack Hu, originally from China, discovered the Nottingham Buddhist Centre while studying in Nottingham. He became an active member of the Sangha and Sub35 group, forming close bonds within the community. Jack’s parents said that the Nottingham Buddhist Centre became one of the most important places in Jack’s life; he found peace, love, and friendship here. In accordance with Jack’s last wishes, the Centre helped by organising a Buddhist funeral for him.

Shortly before his death on the 13th April 2023, Jack took the step of becoming a Mitra, deepening his commitment to the Buddhist path and the practice of the five precepts. In gratitude for the support Jack found here in his final years, his parents generously donated £1,000 to the Centre. This thoughtful contribution has enabled us to create a special bursary fund dedicated to supporting young people in attending retreats. Jack’s introduction to Triratna began at a Sub35 retreat at Adhisthana, after which he regularly participated in the Sub35 events at Nottingham.

Additionally, this legacy donation will go towards redecorating our shrine room, an essential space for our community, where many seek refuge, inspiration, and a sense of connection. Through this generous legacy, we are able to continue to support and inspire others on their path.
