Summer Sangha Working Retreat
at Alfoxton
Friday 10th July - Monday 13th July 2026
(If you’re planning to go to the Buddhafield Festival, Alfoxton has kindly offered to continue your stay there between the end of the working retreat and the start of the festival)
A retreat for people who have completed a course and are familiar with how we practice.
Join us for this long summer weekend in the scenic surroundings of Somerset, at Alfoxton Park, coming together and helping renovate an 18th century country house into a Buddhist Retreat Centre!
This is a Sangha Working Retreat, so there will be work periods throughout the weekend, as well as plenty of opportunity to meditate, practice, and create sangha! People will need to bring a tent or a live-in vehicle as this is a camping retreat, there’s a limited amount of indoor accommodation available for those who have specific needs.
We will share and arrange lifts/travel together closer to the time.
Alfoxton has a long and rich history stretching back over 1000 years. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and was the former home of the poet William Wordsworth in 1797. Now, it's entered a new chapter in its long life - as a Buddhist retreat centre! Click here to find out more about Alfoxton.
