“Unskilful states always seek to drive the wedge of self-interest between things, obstructing the flow of life with the thought of our own benefit or gain.”
Sangharakshita, Living with Kindness
Come together with others in the Sangha for a day of study and discussion, exploring key Dharma teachings from Sangharakshita around self-view and individuality.
Through practising the Dharma we are gradually freed from unskilful habits and fetters, but when we have left go of these reactive states of mind what is left? Whilst letting go of one thing we are gradually growing into something else: a quality of creativity. This is an ‘individuality’ that is no longer framed by the group, by conditioning, and by the views and biases of the mind, and eventually this process unfolds into a rich embodiment of human qualities and irreversible freedom.
Saddhanandi is a guest Order member who lives at Adhisthana retreat centre in Herefordshire, as part of the Dharma teaching team. This day is a unique opportunity to study the Dharma with a very experienced and skilled Order member, who knew Sangharakshita personally and has a long lived experience of integrating his teachings into her life.
