Men’s Event: The first noble truth
Sunday 15th February 2026 | 11:00 am - 13:00 pm
Open to men who have completed a course and are familiar with how we practice.
The men's mornings this year are following the theme of the four noble truths, one of the most fundamental formulations of the Buddha's teachings. Dayajava will be introducing the first noble truth: the truth of unsatisfactoriness, suffering, 'Dukkha'.
Every life has it's parts that aren't fully satisfying, even some that are profoundly painful. Often we are trying to avoid those difficulties or to deal with them only on their own level. The first noble truth points to how liberating it is to face and name suffering for what it is. Join Dayajava and Shuddhanara for a morning of study and practice aimed at doing just that.
Booking:
We run everything at the Nottingham Buddhist Centre on a donation basis - we want our events to be available to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. We ask for a donation at the time of booking if possible, as we’re completely reliant on your generous donations to keep our doors open to all.
We’d suggest a donation of £20/£16/£14 - or whatever amount you can and would enjoy giving.
If you are unable to give even a very small amount, you are still very welcome. Please email info@nottinghambuddhistcentre.org and we'll book you on.
(Please note: any donation made is a donation to the centre and not payment for an event. If for some reason you can’t make the event, you’re warmly welcome to join any other suitable event)
