Radical Wisdom: An Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation | Tuesday Evening Course

This course consists of six weeks in-person followed by a day retreat.

Starting from Tuesday 5th November 19:30pm - 21:30pm

Many of us are waking up to the daunting and unprecedented challenges to our way of life that we currently face around the world. Even if we simply feel a vague sense of unease or dissatisfaction with our situation, we probably all share a niggling sense that there is a radically more satisfying way we could live our lives, both as individuals and as a society.

Can we really find happiness in more and more distraction, and having ever more stuff? Buddhism tells us that this won’t work – but that there is a real happiness to be found, if we look in the right place.

On this six week course you will learn the two most important Buddhist meditation practices, and try out some powerful Buddhist wisdom teachings that can change the way we see the world.

Using a combination of team-teaching, small-group discussion, meditation, and practical exercises, this course will give you tools to help face the challenges of our times -- tools that can also unlock joy and meaning in the process.

Join Arthabandhu and Upekshanandi, along with the rest of the team, beginning Tuesday 5th November, 19:30 - 21:30pm, at the Nottingham Buddhist Centre. The course lasts for six weeks and concludes with a day retreat on the 15th December.

HOW TO BOOK

We run everything at the Nottingham Buddhist Centre on a donation basis, we don't charge for our courses as we want them to be available to everyone regardless of their financial situation. We do ask for a donation to the Centre at the time of booking if possible, as these generous donations allow us to keep our doors open, and open to all.

If you are able to, we ask that you donate £95 or whatever amount you can to the Centre at the time of booking this course. If you are unable to donate at this time you are still very welcome on the course, in which case please email info@nottinghambuddhistcentre.org to request a place.

(Please note: A donation made at the time of booking is not a payment for the course. As such, we cannot offer a refund if you do not attend the course. You would of course, as always, be welcome to attend any of our future introductory offerings.)

If you want to find out more before booking then please attend one or two of our drop-in meditation classes which you can find here. We also have some recorded on our youtube channel.
