Radical Embrace
Weekend Retreat with
Singhashri & Balajit
Saturday 26th - Sunday 27th September 2026
For those who have completed a course and with a minimum 6 months of meditation experience.
Both days will start at 10.30 am and finish at 4.30 pm at the Nottingham Buddhist Centre.
How can we learn to embrace ourselves, others and the world more deeply and radically, with awareness and compassion?
Together we will meet ourselves where we are, with appreciation and curiosity, inviting all our disparate selves into a space of presence and availability. We will draw on resources like grounding, the breath, simple mindful movements, neuroscience and creative ritual.
We'll explore our capacity to discover and dwell in more expansive qualities of absorption and deepen our confidence to turn towards those places within us that are stuck, restricted and painful.
Doing this, we'll learn to liberate restricted energies, break the spell of false views, and allow them to transform in the clear light of awareness. What emerges is a more authentic, embodied experience of our innate ability to connect more deeply with ourselves and others.
Led by special guest Order Members, Balajit and Singhashri, two experienced meditation and dharma practitioners—this retreat provides an opportunity to engage with practice through an embodied approach. We will be having vegan lunch together on both days so please bring some food to share.
About the teachers:
Balajit has been guiding retreats across the UK for over 15 years. With experience living and working at the Vajraloka Retreat Centre in North Wales, he now resides in Birmingham, where he teaches the Dharma and practices as a trauma-based therapist with a somatic approach.
Singhashri is a queer, Latinx-American dharma teacher and writer, and the creator of Radical Embrace. They teach mindfulness and compassion as tools for awakening to love, beauty, and truth. Singhashri leads retreats in the UK, Europe, and the USA, and is involved in various initiatives promoting diversity in Buddhist sanghas and the secular mindfulness community.
HOW TO BOOK
We run everything at the Nottingham Buddhist Centre on a donation basis - we want our events to be available to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. We ask for a donation at the time of booking if possible, as we’re completely reliant on your generous donations to keep our doors open to all.
We’d suggest a donation of £105/£85/£65 - or whatever amount you can and would enjoy giving.
If you are unable to give even a very small amount, you are still very welcome. Please email info@nottinghambuddhistcentre.org and we'll book you on.
(Please note: any donation made is a donation to the centre and not payment for an event. If for some reason you can’t make the event, you’re warmly welcome to join any other suitable event)
