WEEK 5
HOME PRACTICE
Do much more Metta Bhavana this week
Apply the practice to a situation of conflict that you are or have been involved in, and include all parties concerned, not just those you agree with or sympathize with the most
Bring to mind someone who has behaved unskillfully
Bring to mind all those involved in war and conflict
Reflect upon people who have ‘wronged’ you, and ask is it helpful to hold on to this
How might you behave differently to them?
Does reflecting upon death change how we relate to them?
Can we think of concrete ways in which we can live out Sangharakshita’s six guidelines?
Can we use them both inter-personally and more generally as a citizen of the world?
What might being a citizen and having a civic duty mean for us?
How might we do both of these?
In your journal, take note of anything that strikes us, and any intentions we want to set for the day ahead
You might like to note a few things you’re grateful for in our modern society each day.
