Resources for Newcomers
For those of you who are new to meditation or who want a refresher, we provide the following resources so you can meditate at home. The recordings were made on previous courses held at the Centre. As there are different ways to meditate, we provide two or three examples of each meditation.
If you are able to, please consider making a donation to the Buddhist Centre. The Centre runs on the generosity of the many people who participate and benefit from our activities and all donations are gratefully received. If you are a tax payer, we are a registered charity and you can Gift Aid donations.

Guides
Here are some pdf files describing meditation posture and the two meditation practices.
Below is an audio file that Kshantika - our Yoga teacher - recorded on a Nottingham Sangha retreat. You may find it helpful for preparation for meditation. Kshantika writes - ‘This is a yoga nidra practice (a meditative relaxation practice) that is fused with Buddhist meditative teaching from the Satipatthana - mindfulness - teachings. The practice is usually done lying down, or in any comfortable supported posture. The aim of the practice is to create a spacious, aware, relaxed state in which we can explore our experience. It can be a lovely practice in its own right or a good preparation for a seated meditation practice. I find it a beneficial practice between physical yoga practice and seated meditation.’
